Cardiology

The Cardiology Department took the lead in the basic and clinical research for arrhythmia, cardiac pacing and hypertension in Hunan province. With the rapid development in late years, the Department has been granted a lot of national and provincial scientific research projects and patents in hypertension, artificial heart pacemaker implantation, percutaneous coronary intervention and interventional treatment of arrhythmia. With more than 300 articles and papers published and over 20 authorized books and book chapters complied, the Department was achieved great success on interventional therapy of coronary heart disease and atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia ablation. The first patient union for percutaneous coronary intervention (CPI) in Hunan was established, to standardize the follow-up observation.

As the "Center of Sicentific Session of Chinese Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology" and "Tele-ECG Monitoring Network System and ECG Telemonitoing Center"in Hunan Province, China, our department has successively hosts “New Xiangya International Conference of Cardiovascular” and other conferences and forums which gradually extend our competitive power and improve our international image.

The Department of Cardiology owns three clinic units of Hypertension, Coronary Heart Disease and Arrhythmia and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) with 88 authorized beds.
